Paul Lipsky, Motion Graphics Professor

My Background: I have over 20 years of experience in 3-D animation in television. In 1988 I was in the first graduating class of the newly formed Masters of Fine Arts at the School of Visual Arts where I received the Paula Rhodes Award for Special Achievement in Computer Art. In 1995 while still working as a 3-D animator in NYC I started teaching at NYU's Center for Digital Applications. In 1999 I entered academia full time, since then I've lectured internationally in Taiwan, China, Jamaica, London, and South Africa, organized presentations with industry leaders, won several industry awards, and published on bridging the world of theory and practice. In addition to academia I continue to work in the animation field. A partial client list includes, HBO, CBS Sports, Nickelodeon, The Disney Channel, USA Networks, and The History Channel. In January I became a educational media consultant for Hofstra University where I'm currently installing a Vicon motion capture system donated by Blur Studios. (Thanks Tim)

In December I finished two 30second Visine commercials for Bionic Studios in NYC, we re-created their signature Visine drop of liquid in 3-D. (I'll post the movie once it finishes airing)

In June I was a visiting professor at Shih Chien University , one of the top ten design schools in Taiwan
